Порядковые числительные

Отвечают на вопрос какой? Обозначают порядок во времени. Перед ними всегда стоит определённый артикль the. Образуются с помощью окончания –th: the fourth - четвёртый, the tenth - десятый, the seventeenth - семнадцатый, the thirty-seventh – тридцать седьмой, the one hundredth – сотый.

Исключения:

- the first -первый

- the second - второй

- the third - третий

- the fifth - пятый

- the eighth - восьмой

- the ninth - девятый

- the twelfth - двенадцатый

- the twentieth – двадцатый (подобные изменения при присоединении окончания происходят во всех числительных, обозначающих десятки)
